Metro Rotary decorated and filled Goodie Bags to hand out to Veterans at the VA Hospital on St. Patrick's Day.

This is from Tina Reams who organized and put together this event on Sat March 5, 2022. Members and guests turned out to help. Thank you to Vicki for bringing the coffee and bagels, it was just right.

"A BIG THANK YOU to everyone who helped decorate and fill bags for the VA Hospital this weekend.

We had a great time at the memorial on Saturday!  Many hands make light work!

As you know, the Albuquerque Metro Rotary Club met this past Saturday to fill goodie bags for the VA Hospital for St. Patrick’s Day as part of our District Grant service project.  We decorated and filled 100 bags all in all.  We were so grateful to be able to use the Meeting Room of the NM Veterans Memorial Visitor Center so we could really spread out and get the job done.  I’ve attached a few pictures from our event.

It was a lot of fun!

I’m coordinating with Karla and Elizabeth at the VA for the special delivery of our goodie bags.  As much as I would like to leave the bags in my car until the delivery time because the Irish Spring bars of soap in the bags smell so good, I worry, that the chocolate candy coins might melt. Right now, everything is safely stored in my garage.

As soon as they let me know, I will load everything up, put on my green tutu and leprechaun hat and make the special delivery for our Club 😊"

We still have money left from the Distract Grant so there will be more to come as Karla lets us know what is needed.
